Solace is my sister, she was using my laptop all summer and I left for college at the end of Augest so she has a hard time getting to a computer. I talked to her last week and I know she has sent but not received, whoever gets her stuff is lucky, most of it was finished before I left and it is amazing. I will call her tonight and tell her what is going on.

so i have a couple questions. 1. is that jiji a stencil or did you do it freehand? and 2. do you have a pattern for that amazing totoro?

1. Jiji was a stencil with painted-on features and a red beaded collar which you can't see in the photo.

2. I didn't really use a pattern for Totoro (really his medium-sized buddy). I based him on the "Forest Friends" body pattern - you can google "Forest Friends" + "crochet" or something like that to find it. I think it was the owl's body lengthened a bit. The features are ironed on with stitch witchery and embroidered. The only thing he doesn't have is a tail in the back - next time! I just hope he wasn't too scruffy from being "loved" by my girls before he was sent!
That's so appropriate. Miyazaki based the Totoros on a combination of Owls, cats and rabbits. In fact when they are sitting in the trees with the horns/ocarinas it represents the hooting of the owls. And I often see the smallest totoro with bird feet.

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now. -John Lennon

Can we finally wrap this up for those of us who haven't received yet? Can we get a final word as to whether we will get swap angels or whether we should just consider ourselves flaked on?

I am willing to be a swap angel.  I have tons of fun making stuff for this swap.

So who did not receive the package?  Do we have a list?

I am still willing to be an angel for anyone who needs it! I'm not sure why more action hasn't been taken. kjtalula was on today so maybe she is trying to work out who has been flaked on or not. I suppose if she doesn't respond (which I can't imagine she won't she even stepped up to be my swap angel in a different swap) everyone who needs an angel will post here if nothing else we can all work it out here by ourselves.

So far penguino & I are willing to be angels & it looks like bastelmutti definitely hasn't received. What about Solace?

Radioactivecrafter can you let us know if she isn't able to get to a computer?
