I made this felt onion plushie for my friend because we have an inside joke about onions.

Everyone I show it to thinks its a garlic. haha..I guess it does look like one..so tell me the truth..does it look more like a garlic than an onion? It's about a good size for a pincushion but my friend doesn't sew so I guess it will just be a normal plushie.

Here's some more pics. I know I really don't need more pics but I got camera-happy and took a ton. Here's just 2 more [clickie to make bigger]:

Tell me what you think about him!

EDIT:
Now with really simple paint tutorial further down: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=49722.msg461730#msg461730

It looks like garlic but onions can look alike.. maybe if he was more circular without the  lines... but good job! It would have been a pain trying to make an onion for the most part.. they are circles!

He looks like garlic to me too... I'd make him rounder and squat maybe flatter on both "ends" kinda like sweet onions. He's still adorable though.

I love it!

I think it would be less garlic-like if you made the decorative stitching go around the body, rather than top-to-bottom, maybe? And if you rounded the top and gave it some sprouty things?

Thanks everyone! And also great advice on how to make it more onion-like. Well, my friend likes it and I'm proud of it so I don't think I will alter it. However, if I ever want to make another onion, I'll be sure to use your advice. Glad you like him!

Thanks! Making it is really simple, but I made a quick tutorial in paint. Click to make bigger.

And you should probably add the lines, mouth, eyes, etc. before sewing it into a cone.

If anyone makes one, please post here or post a link to it! I want to see it!
