This is my first post in the Home Sweet Home board.
Friends gave me some great Japanese fabrics for my birthday and I used some of the fabric to make this cushion for them as a christmas gift.
It's great getting a head start on the Christmas presents Smiley

yes!  my mom bought me a bundle of kimono sleeves for my birthday, and this would be the perfect way to incorporate some of them into a gift for her.  awesome!

Yeah, my mum gave me heaps of fabrics for my birthday too (including the natural coloured one I used in this cushion) I'm hoping to make her a quilt like the cushion only bigger.

Thanks for the replies, I was hanging out for them Wink

That is truly beautiful, the colors, and the combinations of the prints. Great job! Anyone would be estatic to get that as a present! I am in awe of you all who can sew......

it's beautiful  Smiley I made something really similar...my pillow was black velvet on one side and bordered the oriental-looking blue silk square on the opposite side.
