Thanks heaps for this tutorial - it worked a treat. Here's my version of the cutout handles bag, made with 2 fat quarters of delicious Amy Butler fabric:





The label was done with iron-on inkjet paper and ribbon.

this is a tremendous tutorial. makes perfect sense. i was mixed up aboutthe handles and then the top seam, but now i see that it's not pulled through the way a regular bucket bag is, it's just sort of matched and sewn. and that one with delicious amy butler fabric is worth a scroll too.

perhaps i'll give it a try this evening or tomorrow. my neice is coming over and that will be a good project for us i think.

That's an ingenious way of doing those handles!  I've made a couple of these bags using the simplicity pattern but hated the way the handles are done.  I'm going to try this instead next time.  Thanks!!  ^_^
