Thanks, Etheren!  I've never been to Edmonton, so I wasn't sure if that was anywhere near the campus!

I think there is another one at Remedy cafe, which is just 3 blocks or so off campus as well.

Whoa...I finally read this thread.

I think there is a little bit of a craft scene in Edmonton. There are the lovely ladies who do Arts vs. Crafts sales, a few knitting groups, and lots of us crafters. I know that a few years back when I started knitting (frequently), I started meeting a lot of other people that knit too. I remember sitting and knitting at New City drinking pints.

Anyway, we should do some E-town craft swaps and get more crafty groups going for us young hip people.

hey - i have a question for you edmontonians. would you guys be interested in attending a weekend afternoon craft concert?   my bandmates and i were thinking of renting a hall and having some bands play (ideally girl ones!) - while offering the audience the chance to bring in their crafting or to purchase a craft kit at the door for a couple of bucks to make something basic. we're thinking it could be all ages. would anybody be interested in going to something like that?

the craft band party is a rad idea. all the crafty kids would come it, especially if you made it an all ages punk show sort of deal...have you posted this idea to spindecline.net?
