that's so sweet. i wish my boyfriend would craft for me. anywaysss.

i think you could totally do it, what i'd do is no matter what try to get done one stripe or however amount of rows everyday. stick to that plan and you'll be set.

as for myself, i bought 16" circs today [the only ones i had before were too long] and so i plan on starting tonight...if i can get done one stripe tonight, i'll devote myself to doing a stripe every day. and i'll be done in no time.

Joffe -- I agree with Aly_421 that it's a matter of making a plan. For instance, I know it takes me 1 hour per stripe. If I committed to 1 hour per day, and I have x stripes, then it should take me x days to get the stripes done.

Unless, of course, I decide to add 2 more stripes... which I did! (Ugh!) It just wasn't quite long enough for that "super-long" Harry Potter look. So right now, I've got 1.5 more stripes to do. Then trimming, then blocking, then fringing. Even when you're "done," you're not really "done." (Sorry, Joffe -- remember to add in finishing time in your plan).

I'm super-booked this weekend, but I hope to be done knitting by Monday. I want need to work on something else!

Thanks guys (girls?)!
I don`t suppose theres a lot of knitting guys here?  Cheesy As for me, I´ve always loved making things with my hands. Lately I´ve also started making stenciled t-shirts, which I intend to use as christmas presents for my friends.

Anyways, I highly appreciate your replies. You´ve really motivated me to do this, and I´m going to set a goal of  at least one stripe (I´m going PS, CoM style with 21 stripes), four days a week. I can´t knit on fridays, saturdays and sundays, as I´m spending alot of time with my girlfriend in the weekends. So, If I keep it up at this rate, I´ll be finished a few days before her birthday, or to bo exact, the 24th of October. Um, someone´s going to have to link me to/ post  a tutorial on how to make fringes... Wink

kaesea: Thanks for reminding me to add time to do the finishing touches! =)

Well, I'm on my third stripe now. I'd be farther along if I hadn't gotten impatient and wanted to see what the H would would look like. It took me about 4 hours to embroider the darn thing. Jesse seems to like it, so that's an encouragment.

I'll post pictures when I find my dern camera.

Have a question for you all. Has anyone else thought of selling these things for the opening of GOF? What would you sell it for if you did?

Alright... here is my completed scarf and hat!  I JUST finished the scarf today (those last few stripes were killer!) and am so glad to be done!  My sister is modelling - I made them for her!

Grr yet again I am having trouble. I am adamant on using  the circular needle but still have tried over and over on several different yarns to find what I want/need. :/

If any of you could look here and maybe point me out what I am doing wrong, I would appreciate it so much. I'm sure If i do just one stitch right I will snap into the habit of doing it correctly.

Sorry - I had to add this... After showing my pictures to my family, my dad superimposed one of my pics into the Harry Potter picture to make it look like my sister was with them!  It was too funny, that I had to show everyone!

that pic is great - as is your finished scarf.  well done!

I'm working very slowly on mine... am on the fourth pattern repeat.  It's looking cool so far, though.
