I think of this as the "Harry Potter Scarf-along" in my mind.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments!!

Booglass: student loans suck.... i'm trying to go trough university without taking a single loan.... so far so good.

As far as how long, it really depends on how fast you knit and how much time you put in it. Mine took me 2 weeks to finish (if I would have done the 14 repeats waybe 2.5 or 3 weeks)

I can't wait to finish! Then I'll start on the Gryffindor one for my daughter...

What yarn are you using?  I have tried to find a combination that I like for the Ravenclaw scarf but haven't found one yet.  Yours looks great and I think it would be perfect for my project too.  I need something to wear to the movies in November.

LOL, thanks booglass! I am using Caron's One Pound yarn for the blue (it's a gigantic one pound skein for $5!!!) and I think the grey is by Wintuk, it's heather grey. I thought it was just as pretty as the $7/$8 per skein yarns I saw, and since I have 3 kids and 2 dogs and a hectic life, I need something I can accidentally wash and dry, LOL!! That Caron is SO soft, I am really excited about finding it. And they have a perfect Gryffindor red, so that's going to be my yarn of choice for the next one I make too. I actually got it at JoAnn Fabrics with a coupon and only paid $6-something for the 2 skeins together - enough for my whole scarf and then some! Yay!

Back to laundry, yuck! But after that, it's more knitting for me, yipee!!

I'd love to join!

I've already completed one POA/GOF style in Gryffindor colors, but I want to make a Hufflepuff and a book Ravenclaw. And a Slytherin one too.
