Yay, progress!

I'm actually two more color bars past that as of today. Don't know how much longer I'm going to make it... I'm pretty short!

I'm into day three of my scarf, and I'm trying to figure out whether I need to buy more yarn to have enough to finish my scarf and make a matching set of mitts, etc since I don't know if I'll easily be able to get any when I get back to school...  I have a 16 oz thing of blue, which had to be made into about ten smaller balls so that I can transport them.  However, I can only get this colour in the 16 oz size and my suitcase room is limited, so I only want to take what I need.  Figuring/Packing sucks.  Still, progress is being made!

I think I'm going to join this knit-along and make a PoA Gryffindor scarf. I have the gold-colored yarn (Plymouth Encore worsted) for the stripes, but the knitting store didn't have the shade of burgundy I need. I'm starting as soon as the order comes in, I'm so excited! =]

My little sister asked for a Gryffindor Scarf for her Birthday - how could I say no?
I'm using Bernat Satin in Bordeaux and Sunrise, and knitting in the round.

It's the first Harry Potter Scarf I have ever knit! It's coming along nicely, knitting up quickly. It's a nice, leisurely knit - great for watching TV!

My burgundy yarn came in and I've started my scarf. Three rows down, MANY more to go! =]

I knitted a lot this evening, and I think it's turning out well so far. I've never knitted on the round - magic loop - or tried switching colors before, so it's a little tricky, but I'm figuring things out!

Do you think it would be okay to knit an HP Gryffindor Scarf in garter stitch? All the ones I have seen are in stockinette but I don't know how to purl and I don't have any circular needles.  Undecided what do you think?

Purling is easy once you get the hang of it. You can go to knittinghelp.com and see a video of how to do it. And you don't have to do it on circulars, just like it doesn't have to be in stockinette! Whatever you like! Smiley
