It's my grandma's birthday today, and I spent all of last night painting this:

It's a floating candle bowl, so I painted on the bottom (to lessen risks of the paint chipping.)

All the pretty flowers....

Golden butterfly and creamy lotus.

*hopes this is the right board for this.* Oh ho ho! No need to worry now that Craftster has a glass board!

Very, very pretty!

I eat lotusesessesssss. Wink
And I eat colorful glass.

What kind of paint did you use? Is it freehand? Was it tricky?

Your grammy will indeed be very happy.

She was happy  Wink

The paint I used was glass painting paint by Pebeo, the Vitrea 160 range. It bakes in the oven. I used frosted (purple) and glossy (everything else.) The big shiny lotus in the middle used a special iridescent medium. For outliner, I used Lefranc & Bourgeois Cern' Outliner in gold.

I freehanded some of it, but the flowers come from a glasspainting book, I forget which. It was a straightforward method (just outlining then filling it in) but it still too aaaaaaaages.

That's beautiful, I eat the golden butterfly.  What a great gift!  There's always something new on craftster...I never heard of glass paint.  Time for a trip to the art supply store!
