I knew I had to take part in this challenge from the beginning. I wanted to try out using different kind of things to crochet and knit for sometime, but only had a miserable attempt at knitting with fabric.
Now, what to use

What about...
...rubber-insulated cable? Unfortunately eventhough I used the thinnest cable in my dads assortment, it refused to be crocheted! I gave up after two chains as it just was impossible to bend easily.
...spaghetti? Well, probably would work, but my mum taught me not to play with food

...twine? I actually found some nice multi-colored twine, but it was too expensive and I was only able to buy one "ball".(not enough)

Well, what else could I use?
RIBBON!!!
Yes, why not? I searched the apartment and found three "balls" of ribbon.
Because you normally would use it to wrap around a gift, I thought I'll make a gift box out of it.
It's a basic shape, started with a rectangle for the bottom and the sides done in rounds. On the top is another rectangle attached to work as a lid.
It was indeed easier to work with than the rubber-insulated cable(sorry, but I somehow I find the word funny

), but it still took me looooong to finish it. I had to make a break every other row, cause my wrist started to seriously hurt.

I also found a good use for it. It holds my mum's birthday gift, a knitted shawl.
