I adore totoro! if you dont know who totoro is, then you definitely need to watch My Neighbor Totoro, this late-80's japanese anime movie.. the only japanese animation i like so far. such a cute movie.

If you know Totoro, you know how distinctive that face is.
if you dont, let me introduce you:

with some hours on PSP and my friend google, I put together a knitting chart.

I then used the chart to make a hat.

note- i removed the chart and instructions because i've been seeing hats made with my pattern on etsy. this was not created for someone else to profit off of.

What a beautiful hat! I love a) the idea of making a scarf to match his belly; and b) the colour of blue/grey you used for your hat. What kind of yarn is it?

So cute. Dh and I are huge Miyazaki fans. I love My Neighbor Totoro however, my favorite is Kiki's Delivery Service. I think you should most definitely add the ears. Great job.

Totoro!  I must have rented that movie ten thousand times as a kid.  And I don't even like anime.
Awesome job making the chart.
Cool icon, too... is that Fafi?  I read an article about her once, she's badass.
