I've been experimenting with the different ways of knitting a ruffle, and I knit this scarf this afternoon.  I used bamboo needles (well, needle - a circ) for the first time - veeery nice! It's knit in rowan chunky print.  What do you think?

I knit this caplet on holiday last week:

It's knit on 20mm needles which was FUN!  Grin
I love this caplet so much I can hardly bear to take it off, but we're having some unusually hot days at the moment here in the UK... Roll Eyes

Awesome Job - 20mm needles is what size in US? Did you use a really chunky yarn or did you hold more then one strand together to make the capelet? Looks wonderful!

I think they are size 35 US.  They're really big - like knitting with smartie tubes! (do you have Smarties in the US??)
(that's not me btw -I googled a picture for you.  I look much happier when I'm knitting! Cheesy)
It was knit in Rowan's Big Wool Tuft which is very chunky and has bits sticking out every so often to make the tufts.

I love it. Big needles are such fun.

May I ask where you bought the pattern? I've heard of Rowan, but I've not used them.

(I sound like a moron)

Yes, big needles are so much more fun than that lady is making them look!  Cheesy
It's from the pattern book "Big just got bigger" and I bought it in Scotland on my holiday (I live in England).

Thanks, I'll have a look at my local yarn store. I'm in Aus, so it's always a little hit and miss with things like this.

Oh my goodness that's brilliant! (I LOVE the colour, but I'm not sure why.  I usually wear lots of pink and red, but this item just seems to work in this colour!!)

I love, love, love both your projects.  That capelet is completely charming.  Your choice of brooch is perfect.  What do you wear it with?  I have a long velveteen skirt that pines for your capelet.  *muffled sobs coming from closet*
