WHat I don't understand is how is everyone making this bag with no measurements? I'm afraid if I tried this I would screw it up without a pattern and no measurements just going by eye balling my comp screen lol Can you guys tell me how you went from yards of cloth to the pieces please?

I am so glad I found this! I have some really awesome fabric but the pattern repeats too horizontally for my taste so I looked for a pleated bag to mix up the a little! Thanks for sharing, really appreciate it!

Mom's are awesome.  So is this bag!  I love the fabric, and the shape and size of it are perfect!  Great job.

I made one for my sis in law, she's having a tough week.  Pretty good tutorial, I'm a newbie.

sandy

the material is from sales scraps my aunt gave me for couches.   Kinda dark for me, but for the first one it turned out cute.  Definitely making myself one.

thanks, thanks, thanks so much for this lovely bag and brilliant tutorial  Smiley

i'm a total beginner in sewing and this bag actually was not only my first bag ever, it was my first piece of sewing ever  Shocked Cheesy

and here you can see how it turned out!

for the fabric i stripped down ikea bedcloths. a stripy one for the outside, a uni one for the lining.
i even attached pockets to the lining for mobile phone etc.

what do you think of my first bag ever?! i'm so proud of myself  Grin

That's beautiful.  I adore the fabric.  My MIL gave me tons of her mom's old fabric.  I still don't know what to do with it.  Except, I made her a pillow out of the small scraps.

Great job for your first time in awhile.  I guess sewing is just like riding a bike.
