Subculture Swap 2! (SIGNUPS  8/18/05 – 8/29/05 ; MAIL 10/01/05)

Swap name: Subculture Swap 2

Date to send item by: 10/01/05 (this is a Saturday)

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: yep

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: yep

Details of swap:
This was inspired by the first (and rather successful) Subculture Swap – that gallery can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28996.0.  The idea is to make and receive crafts/goods based on a particular “subculture” or style.  Some examples (but not all!) are: rockabilly, surf, punk, emo, hippie, glam, goth, boho, beatnik, mod, psychobilly, anglophile, burlesque, flapper, etc.  Here’s a helpful list of some subs - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_subcultures

You will specify which subculture theme you identify with or would like to receive.  Provide as many details as you wish for your partner.

Please be sure to send the equivalent of 1 main item and 2 additional items (this can vary – you may choose to make several smaller items or put all your effort into one really kick-ass piece).  Use your best judgment and have fun!  The theme can be carried out in any way you see fit, be it clothing, accessories, mix cds, artwork, paper crafts.

There is about a month to craft based on the amount of research this might involve.  And as this is my first time organizing, any suggestions are welcome.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

I really want to do this, but signups end right before I go back to school, and I don't know yet whether or not I'll have enough time to craft everything. I guess I'll have to skip this one and hope for a part three. This is so sad! :-(

thanks for the feedback re: younger swappers.  i like the idea of getting parent's OK.  i'll make this open to all ages, with parent's ok for under 16.
