Inspired by the great revamps for all rounds of the thrift store picture revamp swaps, i did one of my own. I liked this little wood plaque thing, but it was a little too 60's for my bright red 50's kitchen. I used paints, modpodge, and a page from a vintage cookbook.

Tha tis very cool! I've been keeping an eye on the revamp swaps and I must say that this is one of my faves - I love how you made it so bright when it started off kind of blah. I never thought of doing one myself but I think you've inspired me too.

Thanks! Has anyone else done a non-swap revamp of their own?

That's really cool. It kind of reminds me of Morton's salt with the umbrella girl (the vintage foods behind it make me think that) ... I swear I used to have a placard with a similar painting (the boy looks really familiar), and the placard appears to be the same size. It was hanging in my room for a few years! Really like the red colors ... Wink

Yeah, these little suckers are ALL over. I see them everytime I go to the thrift store! It is a lost art, really, the picture mounted on a wood plaque....maybe they will come back into style some day..
