My sister just got engaged so I picked out these really nice napkins and placemats (I chose the color combination) and embroidered them with their first initial (for Nick & Jocelyn). I know it's simple, but I felt like it added a nice touch. I'm also pretty proud of my wrapping job...please comment!

Thanks for looking!

that's fantastic! I've been buying presents off my friends registry, but dying to make them a little more personal... BRILLIANT!  Grin

Those are really gorgeous.  The color combo and stitching are great.  You should be proud!I would love to get something like that from someone rather than a random store bought present.  Your sister will think of you each time she uses them.  Awww.

Thanks all! I'm surprised to be getting such greatfeedback since it's the simplest embroidery I've done! It must be the overall packaging - that's what happens when you work in an art department all day...

Yeah, I was proud of the color combo choice myself - altho' they were store-bought originally (Crate & Barrel to be exact)...but now they feel much more personal.

BTW, msmeow, my kitty, Smash, looks exactly like your kitty on your avatar (except she's tortoiseshell (sp?) but the white is exactly the same). And she even twists herself into the same tai chi kitty poses....separated at birth?

I get so many people commenting on my kitty there in my avatar.  Kitties and their people--you gotta love 'em!  Grin My kitty can look deciving.  He looks all fat and solid until he stretches and then he's really long.

I don't embroider, but it looks gorgeous to me.  The thread looks nice and chunky and full.

I love that it's so simple, yet so elegant. When me and my boyfriend get married, I can only hope that I get personalized thoughtful gifts like this.
