I already have a tiny food processor for chopping nuts and stuff like that, but I want to buy a big one (will hold at least 5 cups) that is pretty powerful.  Any suggestions on brands or tips on buying one?  I want to find one for under $50 if possible.

i use my moms old one. i think its almost older than me.
my suggestion would be garage sales, thrift sotres etc. the older ones tend to be bigger and gruntier. i guess people baked more often back then. or we ate more?
anyway.. an older model will be cheaper too. i've found the bigger ones new cost HEAPS... i tried to find one when the lid of mine started sticking. and then i just found a new lid at the dump store : )
<3 good luck. food processors are fantastic.

I got mine from friends who had recently merged households and had a spare.  Do you know anyone who's gotten hitched recently?   8^)

PM me for a FREE vintage embroidery transfer of mushrooms (more info in profile).
