This is terribly entertaining as my best friend and I have been discussing starting a "I don't need a guy" or the "sometimes I wish I liked girls" club....

the Guy landscape here is what one might call "lacking" for the most part Wink. I don't think i have enough posts yet though to participate.. Sad

i had more of a feminist-y/grrl power/empowering idea. when i first posted i was really anti-guy and even though i'm still single i think a focus of "being a single girl rocks" is better than guys suck...but without being too cutesy or corny. but i'd still want to keep it for single girls though.

Hmmm...so it's gonna be a "Single...and Fabulous!"...with crafted goodies that celebrate the merits of being single kinda swap?  I like!   Grin

exactly. we could make cd's of grrl/feminist music, journals to keep our fabulous thoughts in, badges/buttons/pins/magnets celebrating your singledom, things with comic "boys suck" humour, stationary with empowering quotes/phrases/lyrics and so on.

This sounds cool  Smiley  I love the idea of a single girl swap and think that it'll be splendid if we stick to the swap name "The Single Girl Swap!" and let folks decide on what to craft for their swap partners.  After the swap partners have been assigned, perhaps we could pm our partners and try and figure out their 'state of singleness' (i.e. just ended a relationship and in need of cheering up, just got ditched and is in a rather pissed state, enjoying life as a singleton, single but not available, etc...).  Just my 2 cents.

i would love to organize this swap (it'd be my first time organizing so you'd have to bear with me). as organizer i would try to pair people with similar attitudes. i wouldn't pair someone pissed off and bitter with someone who loves life as a singleton or else your crafts might crash. in any case, i'd do my best to pair wisely, asking what frame of mind you'd like to craft for.

i'm not exactly in a rush to get this off the ground since i've been busy but maybe within the next month or so. for all those interested, what's a good time for you? mid-october? earlier? later?

I'm interested!  Mid-October or a little later would be great for me...hopefully I'd have received clearance from my first swap by then!  I would love to take part in a few swaps before the holiday madness  Smiley

okay i'm editing mine cause i can actually say something... before i was in french class and we had to be leaving the computers.
i love this idea, i think it shouldn't be either I'm SINGLE AND I LOVE IT or I HATE BEING SINGLE but both, and I agree with matching people with similar opinions.  I think there are a lot of cool things that could come out of this!! Definately waiting for this, but yes mid-october would be a good time!!
