my brother (what a GEEK!) wants to go as Rick O'Connel from The Mummy for a non-hallow party thing.. or whatever. any one have any pointers/suggestions/whatnot?

these were the best ones i can find. what do you all suggest? buying stuff or making it?

pessimism: because i'd rather be pleasently surprised than horribly disapointed

I have a sewing machine, and I know how to use it

A rumpled white shirt, brown work pants, brown suspenders and belt, and a pair of wellingtons.  You should be able to find all of it at thrift store.

yeah, you can defninitely get a majority of the costume from thrifting.  if you had some leather around, you could make him the cuff/bracer thing he's wearing.  or you could make it out of some brown felt.
