I'm sure someone has done this before.  I ain't original, but I'm thrilled w/ it.

It's a 100% cotton fair isle sweater from Eddie Bauer that I got at the goodwill for $1.25.

I sliced off the sleeves, maintaining the seams on the body side of it, then I slit the shoulder seams, ran a zig zag stitch, cut off the back color and tag.

I crocheted a chain for the drawstring, threaded it through the former waist of the sweater (now inverted so the color would be the hemline) and called it a day.  This picture doesn't show the nifty side-slit, but it did make my legs look pretty good so I called it a day.

I'm making one of those as well.  Yours turned out great!  Mine is an A-line, I took the sleeves and inserted them in the side (I'm waistline challenged).  Anyway I was having a problem with the drawstring but I got it fiqured now.  Thanks for the post!
