The thing about your #1 point is that it doesn't tend to be that way. Many experienced swappers have just been dissappearing lately and newbies sometimes make the greatest packages, cause they are more excited and usually involved in less swaps than other members.

Just a note on DC numbers...they aren't the same as tracking numbers, in that they only show up after the item has been delivered. It's only delivery confirmation, so, no delivery = no confirmation, even if it's lost or something. You can read about it on the post office web site:

Yeah, but if you send delivery confirmation you can go onto the Postal Service website and type in the number under tracking and it will still come up. It will say that your package is ACCEPTED at a certain post office and then when its delivered to its destination it will show DELIVERED. I know this because I usually send delivery confirmation and that is the case.

Actually not really.. I've had them scanned at several points along the way and I was able to keep track of what was happening to a package when I was given the wrong Zip code. First it told me that it was forwarded cause there was a mistake in the address and that's how we figured out that we had the wrong zip code. Then it kept getting rescanned as forwarded, which was good reassurance that it was still in the system and not lost- so I wasn't considering making a make up package yet. Then it was scanned as resent out for delivery with error corrected and then a few days later it arrived. If it hadn't been for the DC neither me nor my partner would have known why it was taking a month to get there and we would have thought it was lost for sure. I've had it scanned as arrived in my town and it's taken a few days before it was delivered and scanned as delivered, it's good reassurance when it takes a little longer than normal for the package to get there.

I think the post office in my office is messed up.... from now on I'm only dropping packages at the one near my house. About 1/2 the time, packages aren't getting scanned as accepted from me! It's REALLY frustrating! I'm sending, I know I'm legit!

I think the scanning part is hit or miss. I've had DC#s show up as on route, scanned along the way etc and then sometimes I see others that only show when they're delievered. Weird.

ax174l, I was just wondering how the meat & stuffie swaps were going?
I seem to remember you saying that you'd keep a record about flaking or something.

 Smiley

Yep, I remembered.  No data yet though.
The send date for the Meat Swap was last Friday, but a bunch of people PM'd to say they're are going to be late.  The send out date for the Stuffy Swap is this Friday.

Meat Swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=57047.0
Stuffy Swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=57045.0

It's 4 weeks after the send-out dates and the swaps still haven't finished, can you believe it, and here's what's happened so far:

Meat Swap (no restrictions) - Officially, no flakers yet.  One person is still waiting to receive her package.  Her partner sent without a DC, even though they both live in the States.  The partner says she will remake the package and send it out again, so the jury's still out on whether she's a flaker, or just someone with bad luck.

Stuffy Swaps (restrictions, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=54325.0) - Officially, no flakers yet, although I haven't heard from two swappers, and they both need to send and receive.  Thankfully, they are paired with each other so if they both turn out to be flakes, I won't have to find swap angels.

You know when you wait months and months for a swap package, and when it FINALLY arrives it is crap - seriously, not being rude of skills, but just plain crap - or no effort, or just UPSETTING because they've not played fair...Don't you just wish that they didn't even bother? Rather than getting positive, maybe with a comment?

Is this just me? It's only happened once, and I'd given up hope, and am pretty annoyed.

unfortunatley, that JUST happened to me, not months and months, but well over a month

if it took so long to send, what were you doing all that time? :/
