I found an old jewelry box (should have taken a before pic!) at my local Value Village for $10. It was stained wood with two oval mirrors that had tacky flowers etched onto them. I (with the help of my lovely assistant, my younger sister) sanded it and re-painted it. I then glued pictures of me and my older sister on the front and varnished the whole thing. We also had to remake the drawer pulls because the old ones fell apart.


I gave it to my older sister (the one on the left) for her 21st birthday.

When you open the bottom drawer, it plays the theme from Romeo and Juliet, which she plays on the piano all the time.

She really liked it and now I know where to go when I want to steal borrow her bling.
