Each participant will make 12 [12"X12" square] quilt blocks, and send one to each of the 11 other swappers! Anything goes, you may use any style you'd like. But please remember that our quilts will be **washed** and **used** often so anything you do must be permanently attached!! IF we have any non-US swappers we will ALL be sending out of the country, so please remember that when joining...

yay...I signed up...I'm so excited! Just wanted to know something?...It is said that we need to send out the same quilt square for everyone...I was planning on doing some crazy quilt type squares...not totally sure yet. But before I start making them, I just wanted to know if the squares have to be TOTALLY the same or just the basic pattern. I wanted to use lots of my random fabric I have, but I wouldn't have enough fabric to do all with the same fabric...so can we just do the same general pattern idea with different fabrics?

Sorry if that is a stupid question...I guess I'm just being a paranoid freak....AGAIN...th at happens to me sometimes when I do swaps...kinda swap anxiety!

It actually just says we're sending out 12 squares... and they're Cwaaaazy so they can be any thing you want them to Nessa! I plan to make mine random and then cut them down to 12x12 size, so I don't have to "plan" them as much. Although I might throw in a robot or two, LOL...

I only want to make sure that if people do things like ribbon or buttons or something, they are sure that they can be washed. Glitter rules, but it isn't so washable, ya know?! Plus, in my case at least, I use all my quilts all the time and with 10-month-old twins and an 8 year old and 2 dogs, they get messy and have got to be washable...

I am so excited to start this!! Since we aren't going by partner likes/dislikes we can obviously start way before the sign-up ends - and, I won't wait til the end to do feedback - I always do it as the items are rec'd.

Right on...thanks for the clarification...som eone posted in the other thread that it didn't matter what kind of square it was, just that everyone had to receive the same ( I figured it just ment same style)...so I was going by that...so glad that they can be random...its what I figured, I just wanted to check. No problem about the embellishments...I think I'll skip out the buttons...I never thought about children and washing and such...

can't wait...think I'll start mine tomorrow.

I do remember it saying that about being the same in the other thread, lol, now that you mention it! But no worries it doesn't have to be. I think I actually was the one that said it - or rather that we'd all end up with the same squares but in different qults... lord I am a dingbat sometimes.

I have been in quilting mode lately, doing a blanket for Newborns In Need, so this is just the jumpstart I need to get those going too!!

I already started mine!!!!!!!!! I am not making them the same but I am starting off with the same fabric for all of them.  I am making 13 because I KNOW that I will not like one of them at the end. I am trying to use the same fabric colors so that mine will all be similar but not identical, Then I will add different embellishments and embroidery stitches.  He He He this is sooo fun.
