I made these sometime last year and I love them to death.  They're just cheap canvas flats painted with acrylics.  People are always asking me if I know that my shoes don't match... yeah.  Do I look like the type of person walks around in different shoes without knowing?  (I hope not!)

I love ballet flats.

But they DO match.  They're the same style and base color... they are like pb and j.  Anyway, I like them a lot.

I do the same thing with toe socks because can never find the match. Then I'd have my bio teacher asking me if I knew my socks didn't match.  Tongue

Cute!
Not to be a grumpybear, but stupid questions like "Hey!  Are you aware your shoes don't match?"  drive me nutty.  I once pulled a small table out of a sidewalk trash pile.  It was really heavy (in fact, I had to abandon it), and as I was lugging it home some guy stopped me and said, "Don't you know that's too heavy to carry?"
People can be soooooooo dumb, it's frightening.

Great job. Those are so cool. I think when people ask questions, sometimes it is their way of saying they don't like something. I have a labret piercing and I don't know how many times someone has said, "Did you know you have something stuck on your face?" and then they crack up laughing.

I got them at Payless really cheap, but that was awhile ago.  Sometime last month I went looking for another pair, and I only saw them in pink.  I'm sure there's somewhere that they're available, but there are also some tutes on making ballet flats here on craftster.

I was afraid of messing them up, too!  Work out an idea of what you want to do, and then just go through with it.  Usually it won't mess up too much.  If you do find some black flats like these, make sure you paint white as an undercoat because the colors don't show up as well on black.  You don't have to put the white everywhere you paint, just on the big areas you're going to color in.

Yeah, people are weird like that.  Sometimes I wonder if it would just be easier to say you don't like something.

Thanks everyone!
