This is my first completed project post.  I found the table at a local thrift shop for $2.50 - someone had "antiqued" it (making a blue/green disaster), and I have no doubts that it was a beautiful table before that.  I sanded it and painted it black to match my bedframe.

The wings are taken from the shiny side of CDs. The colors were more tricky because I had to find CDs of those colors that I was willing to part with.  All of the black is made up of snipped off pieces of vinyl records.  The vinyl was really fun to work with because depending on which way the ridges face, the light catches differently.  I can't take credit for the picture idea, though - I based it off of an angel my husband drew for me.

I do have one question, though.  Would anyone be able to recommend a good liquid sealant?  I was all set to seal it with liquid acrylic, but then I heard that sometimes you end up with bubbles and I don't want that to happen.

Thanks for looking!

I LoVE this. I just mosaic'd a cafe table I found at  flea market and used clear resin on it after I grouted in the flat marbles. It seemed to work out really nicely as long as you follow the instructions to the T. Don't buy polyurethane because it tends to turn yellow.
