For everyone in the bay area, this is the crafter's hidden gem. It's called SCRAP, and they sell EVERYTHING for super super super cheap. you fill up a paper shopping bag with whatever you want, they look through it and give you a price (almost always under $10) They have fabric, yarn, buttons, paper, frames, wood, glass, metal... it's amazing. here's their website with directions (in the Potrero Hill area) GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!

HA!
I was so going to post a topic on this. The lady always makes things cheaper if she's in a good mood. You can put her in a good mood buy bringing her paper bags.  Wink

I wanted so badly to go there when I was visiting SF (which is one of my favourite cities ever, btw!).  We were on our way, and my friend called for directions, and found out that they were closed that day (some random day of the week?).  I was so sad.  Sad   I didn't have another chance to try and go while I was visiting.  Boo!

I am so glad you posted this! I often frequent the depot for creative reuse in oakland and its nice to know there is another place like it!

I always go there for like, stacks of magazines, little trinkets, and childrens' books to do art with! I also get jars and paint and stuff... I love it!
