your shoes look really great! excellent craftsmanship on all the perfect edges.

it seems funny that somebody commented on the originals being overpriced after seeing the multi-day procedure that went into making another pair. for someone who didn't like fussing with clean lines and masking, i could see it being worth $165 to save the trouble!

painting the straps works alright as well..  I painted mine black, and the color has held up for over a year now

Did you just use reg acrylic paint to paint your strap?  I have 3 pairs that I bought on clearance but all are white, no need for 3 prs of white sandles ...
Thanks!
Jule

I've done alot of costuming and one of the greatest tricks I've ever discovered is nail polish for the shoes. It works on leather and canvas. For a shoe that covers your entire foot it starts to chip, but those shoes don't look like they bend much when you walk in them. The other cool thing about nail polish is you can dump glitter on the shoes while you paint them. You shed glitter for a while, but they look awesome.

Those are so cute - but are they comfortable to wear?  If they are I might consider doing up a pair to wear at my wedding once I get annoyed of the  heels that I am wearing.

If you do that - make sure they're tall enough that you won't be stepping on your hem!

those look great! I think that yours actually look better than the ones on the website. I used to have this ancient pair of those shoes that were, like, my mom's from high school.
