I made this purse for my mom, for her birthday on the 18th. I made it way early because i wasn't sure how it would come out cause its my first time trying to make a book purse...

The Front.

I took the pages out of the book and dyed them in tea,  and took the pictures, which the book was a murder book, about Jack The Ripper, and decoupaged it to the cover.

Wow, that looks so great!  It's classy and sort of creepy at the same time (in a good way, of course.  I just mean... Jack the Ripper... spooky.).  Awesome job!

thats awesome! i'm so trying that! your mom  is lucky! (when i first read the title though i thought it said for your moms 18th birthday!)

have you covered it in anything though? i mean like sticky back plastic, so the pages don't come away or peel or rip, or get damaged by rain?

Cool stuff.  I liked the movie From Hell about Jack the Ripper (but most of that was because of Johnny Depp...sigh...).  Looks nice, I've been meaning to dye some pages with tea for a journal or something, sounds fun!  Love the Ripper notes on the outside and added pockets on the inside.
