Hey,
I bought a bag of from the second hand store which contain about 300 tiny colourful gromets.  I was so stoked to use them in clothing until I took a closer look and them and realized there is only one half to them.  I missing the back of the gromet (the shorter side).  What can I do with all these colourful objects that only involes the one side of them.  (They are way too cool to toss out)

If it helps, the gromets are about the size of this smilie  Smiley

Thanks

You can always string them into jewelry, like you would beads.

Sounds like they might be eyelets instead of grommets? Same idea, but eyelets only have the one side to them Smiley You can get eyelet setters at the fabric stores that look sort of like mutant pliers.

ah, i was just going to ask about this!  i tthough that perhaps they were the kind that needed the grommet setter/hammer to use, but before i go back and shell out for that, does anyone have advice about this?

oops, i just read scrapwench's post (it's 7:30 a.m pre-caffeine, and i read the top thirty backwards).  i'm positive my package said grommets, but they too, are just one part-could there be a tool for them as well?

If there is only 1 side and they are that tiny, they are eyelets. Grommets are larger, and I've never seen colored grommets. No matter if you have grommets or eyelets, you will need a tool (and of course, there is a separate tool for each-you can't use the same one for both.) HTH

haha.  Oh I feel pretty stupid right now then.  Actually, the bag came with a tiny tool but it looked like a gromet tool to me so I guess I just assumed they were gromets.

So now I guess that I should be asking.  What can I do with tons and tons of eyelets?
