Last week I made a piece of jewelry for myself (an rarity these days).  I used these green pearls I've had forever, several olive/antique silver cathedral beads, and some beautiful cast bronze dogwood pendants.  The clasp is a sterling silver toggle set with flower detailing.  I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out and I wear it whenever I can.  It's my precioussssssss *ahem*  anyhoo, on to the pic ;-)

and i act like a child, and i'm immature,
and i'm filled with doubt, and i'm insecure.
sometimes it creeps up on me,
and before i know it i'm lost at sea.
but no matter how far i row,
i always find my way back home.
but i don't know what i've been waiting for...

Gorgeous!  I feel like I haven't made jewelry for myself in a long time - between swaps and commissions - I know the joy when you finally make something for yourself!

To fail is to try in the first place.

Since I started making jewelry for sale, I've made very little specifically for myself.  I've 'adopted' a few of my pieces (mostly the original model or test runs), but they weren't made specifically for me.  This set is pure me and isn't something I'd made to sell (it would just be too expensive to make unless it was for a comission).  I bought the flower pendants at a sale a local independent jeweler was having (got the three of them for ~$15, a total bargain), but I didn't like how they presented them (just the pendants on ear wires and a too small gold filled chain).  So I took them and made something fantastic.  So now I wear the set more than I would have if they had been as I bought them.

This necklace is beautiful. I am going to be on the lookout to try and make something similar for myself. Enjoy wearing it.

thanks y'all!  I just noticed that I had replies, so hence my lateness.  The set is really really lovely although I don't wear it much these days (my job is too rough and tumble for anything more than a simple pair of earrings).  Hopefully when I get a new job, I'll be able to wear some of my more complex creations more often  Grin

Sarah, those really are beautiful.  I love green and love how you put it all together.
