As an eku student who will be in Richmond for at least two more years, I am curious to see how many other Richmond KY people are floating around.

We're sandwiched between Lexington (a big-ish community) and Berea (a very crafty place) and close to both.  But I know we've got to have our own great craftsters, and I wonder what sort of treasures are hidden in Richmond.

So any other Richmond KY people want to poke their heads out, and do they know of any Richmond treasures they'd like to share (pretty places, yummy places, crafty places, etc)?

I used to be in Richmond.  Graduated from EKU in '04 though.  Now, I'm in the northern kentucky area.

As for great places, the Peddler's Mall is fun.  It's over near Wendy's and Fazoli's on the bypass.  It's kind of like a indoor flea market.

Oh I forgot about there.  That place can be a ton of fun.  Cheesy

I always got some great things when I went there.

Have you explored much of the surrounding area?  Berea's college square is a delight.  I don't know how many things you can buy to craft with, but the crafts you can buy are outstanding.

I also liked to shop at Botany Bay off of the bypass.  That's where I got most of my body piercing jewelry, but they also have some cool decorations there.

I'm moving to Berea in a year( hopefully, fingers double crossed!).  The college square is really great for buying crafted goods, and there is a WalMart not too far away to buy materials.

actually, I live not far from Richmond (because of my new job, I ended up 20 miles away from Richmond instead of in Lexington) so if you have any ideas about places to buy yarn or things I shouldn't miss in Richmond/Berea or Stitch-n-Bitches in the area...I'd love to know too =)

i went to eastern a couple years ago, but i've finally moved back to ky and back to richmond.

on campus, my favorite places are the fountain, the chapel, and the ravine.

also, if you haven't been to the waterfall, you should go sometime soon, since it just rained and there should be plenty of water in it. not only is it lovely, but it's much fun! i'm dying to photograph it in late fall/early winter!

A new fabric store just opened up in richmond.  Its on the easter bypass, in the shopping center that has goodwill and papa johns in it.

I believe its called Coffee House Fabrics?  I was in the other day and it was adorable.  Some really cute fabric, as well as some really cute patterns and idea books.  Its only been open for a few days.  They even have a little coffee house area with seating and coffee!

I know of two actual coffee places.  Live Wire on main street.  And the buddah belly, which I can't remember which street its on, its suppose to be good with a nifty atmosphere but its hours seem really hit or miss (I"ve never seen it open).

Buddah Belly - coming from lancaster Ave, turn right on main street, and turn right on N. Poplar and the Buddah Belly will be on your right.

When I looked it up on yahoo it was called "Buddah Belly Deli and Pub" but I had been told it was a coffee shop... hmm.  Either way the place looks cool.

Okay I checked out Coffee House Fabrics in Richmond today and I'm so excited about it!

I thought it was the neatest little store (they're also really really nice there...and excited to hear that their store is being talked about on the internet Wink ) so it's definitely worth visiting if you're in Richmond, near Richmond, or driving by Richmond. =)

*bumpity-bump-bump*

Anyone interested in getting together for coffee or crafting or something?  I have a fairly good-sized place and would be willing to have something here.  I would also love to meet at a coffee shop or something!  This town is SOOOOO boring...I need some friends and I need something to do or I'm going to die of Cabin Fever.  Anyone???
