RAAAARAH!

AGH! I got the hat part made just fine but the legs are killing me. I was up till 4 in the morning last night trying to figure them out.  I'm not experienced enough to be able to just figure out what to do for skullseamstress's directions and luvcrochets legs keep coming out bigger than they're supposed to. and I'm using the smallest hook I've got that can still hold the yarn.

You could buy more yarn that's a smaller weight? or crochet a little tighter. Or get another smaller hook. If you're a beginner it will be hard for you to alter the pattern right now and get them to be shaped right.

I've nearly finished it! I've just got to add the second braid and have my mom sew on the legs. I'll post pictures tommorrow but for now I'm going to sleep.

I crocheted tighter and it worked out ok. Thanks for writing out the pattern, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make it. I used your second hat pattern instead of the one you suggested, figured it'd go together faster.  I'm also planning on making a bunch of those hats (without legs of course) for homeless people since it's a cool hat and it's easy! thank you sooo much for the pattern!
