Is anyone aware of (or part of) a knitting group, circle, guild, Stich & Bitch, etc. in Oakland County? I'm near Waterford, Pontiac, Keego, Sylvan, Orchard Lake, West Bloomfield, etc.

I haven't heard of any (I'm in Oakland County), but I would love to start one since I've been wanting to learn how to knit. Do you know where Basketful of Yarn (I think that's the name) in Clarkston is? I know they have a lot of people come in and work on projects, so perhaps they might have a few more leads.

Ooops...my mistake  Embarrassed  Hopefully, something works out for you guys.  I attended my first SnB meeting last night and it was a small group.  Nevertheless, it's always great to meet folks who knit Smiley

We're in Michigan. The SnB site didn't have anything local to us last time I checked.

lucydenyes: I heard that there was one on Tuesday nights at the Borders in Birmingham (5:30 or 6 until 8 or 9). I haven't head of that store, but it sounds intriguing. Most of the ones around me have occasional "classes" that are really open knits that they can charge $ for, and you have to use yarn you bought there.

And just as quickly, we're shot down. I confirmed at lunch that the Borders group was asked to find a different location a couple of weeks ago (I haven't made it there yet).

I am in Northern Oakland  ( Oxford, ortonville, Clarkston area) and a newbie knitter.

Just saying.

A new knitting group just started at the Magic Stick in Detroit on Woodward, if you don't mind the drive. They meet on Tuesday evenings, but I'm not sure of the time.
