Hi guys!  Here's my latest FO.  It's my oldest sister's Christmas present.  The color is off in this picture.  It's really more of a dusty rose.  I picked it to go with her powder blue coat.  I'm thinking of entering it into the State Fair if I can find a category it'll go in.

wow-GORGEOUS

Looks very labor-intensive. How long did it take?

Such a thoughtful gift

That's really beautiful.  Did you come up with the pattern yourself?

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Alikoz, it wasn't too labor intensive, it just looks impressive.  I'd say it took 6-10 hours.  I'm not sure because I was watching an America's Next Top Model marathon on VH1 for most of that, and lost track of time.  On an unrelated note, I'd never seen that show, and it was a lot better than I'd thought it would be.

Palecyreth, well, I came up with the dimensions of the scarf myself, lol.  The stitch pattern is from a stitch pattern dictionary.

Laureg, I got the stitch from my stitch encyclopedia... do you know if it's okay to share those?  I can't imagine it wouldn't be, considering that it's just a technique, not an original idea, but I'd like to make sure I'm not violating copyright by posting it first.  I'll check around and see what I can find out.

i need to find me some of those stitch encyclopedias. i have a reader's digest needlework one,  but the books i've seen don't have a lot of really nice lacey stitches. would you be able to give the the name of the stitch you used? i could try and find instructions for it somewhere. tia!

it looks like the shell lattice pattern and it does indeed look gorgeous for that scarf!   Smiley

as for sharing "stitch patterns" i believe its ok to share them as long as it's in your own instructions versus just copying and pasting someone else's writings and sharing it with others.  as you said it's not a pattern in itself and just a combination of stitchs repeated.
