What a great guy! Not only did he take it upon himself to knit something for you, but he taught himself, knitted in public,  ventured into a yarn store and asked for help! Shame on those ladies in the store! Does he have a brother? Thanks for sharing a wonderful story!

That is the sweetest thing ever - I think you should keep him! 

As for the ladies at the yarn store - they suck.  He should find another place to buy his yarn or buy online.  If you have a Michael's craft store nearby, they sometimes often offer lessons.  But it looks like he did a fabulous job on his own!
