OK. My mom's a librarian at an elementary school. It's book fair time again. The theme is "treasure hunt and pirates" Roll Eyes. All the stuff given to her by the company and the things on the website are, well, dumb.  OK, I need quick crafty things I can do/make to spruce up 5'x12' metal book display cases that can be taken off. Also things that can be put up around the library.  Please, I need help.

if i could be anything i'd be your tear/because i was born in your eye/lived in you cheek/and died on your lip

Hey I think you can do something like this http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/betterorworse/projects/treasure.html

Maybe you could even get some different pictures of pirates of google and glue them on those metal stands...

Hope you have aye mighty ol' time...

Magnets, magnets, magnets!!

The metal bookshelves should be able to take a magnet, though you might want to find out for sure first, so you could do up a whole slew of various nifty pictures, attach them to magnets and start slapping them on!  Gold coins made from chocolate wrappers or just gold paper, various colors of marble magnets with no pictures underneath to be jewels, pictures of pirates, pictures of desert islands with palm trees, (don't get too luau, though,) and swords would all be great fodder for magnets!
