8 bucks.  not sure if that's good or not-so-good, as i never buy vintage patterns, but i'm not worried about that since i love the dress.

I, for one, am jealous. I love vintage patterns. $8 is not bad at all. I have paid waaaaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaaaay more than that for a vintage pattern I loved, which is why I have to keep off of eBay...
Can't wait to see the new/old dress. I bet you come up with the most fabulous fabric too! Have fun!

FYI - Judging from the dress style and the envelope artwork, I'd say this pattern is from the early 1960s, not early 1950s.  Just thought I'd share!!!  Grin  It doesn't change the fact that the dress is still cute as heck!

Hrm!  I know what you mean, the 'rockabilly' style seems more reminiscent of the late 50s - early 60s.  I just wonder why the seller wrote '1952'!  Weeeiird.  Maybe I'll find out when I get the pattern.

I have a bunch of old patterns, and I find the simplicity ones often have copyright dates on the pattern envelopes, you may get lucky and that's where the date came from.  Otherwise, it may have been written on there by whomever owned it originally, which may or may not be accurate.  It's really cute.  Incidentally, I have a TON of vintage patterns, have gotten really lucky at thrift stores and such.  (I got a complete, uncut dress pattern from 1943 for $0.16 at a Goodwill, even!)  Sadly, most of them won't ever fit me, so I collect them when I find them because I love them and hope someday to find them a good home.  If anyone has a certain style in mind, 1950's pencil skirt, 1960's mod dresses, etc., I can look through my collection.  Cheesy

I have that one!  I found it at goodwill and, since they have so many patterns, I think I got it for 10 cents or a quarter.  Some small form of US currency!
