I have been wondering this myself, and I came up with an idea that I haven't tried yet.  I also have new undies that never fit, so what I was going to do was find some various flesh colored liniing material and make zippered pouches.  My justification is that the lining will make people not so squeamish.  And I mean, really, they're washed and all.

I dunno. My friend made an evening bag once out of an old strapless bra Roll Eyes... She got some interesting looks at the family reunion...
Why not do something like that?
Or if you're really daring, just sew then on the back of your jeans...
Or, make a sewing caddy!

when we were kids, my mama used to make special little hankies out of her old silk panties for us kids... for when we had a bad head cold ...they were more gentle than cotton hankies or Kleenex on sore noses Wink

If there is enough material you could make them into fabric covers for books?  ; Cheesy Grin

If it is the print on the fabric that you love, rather than the actual undies, would it be possible to create a stencil based on the motif and apply it to whatever fabric/clothing/paper that you like?  I must admit, it would take a special kind of confidence for me to go out in public with a handbag that was recognisably constructed from "ratty underpants"! Undecided  But I can understand having a strong attachment to a certain illustration/motif/print.  Would love to see what comes of this thread!!

You folks have inspired me. I got a couple ideas:

A headband - Hey, the underwear is clean and it's not like I'll be using the crotch of it, so why not put it on my head?

Cat toys - It's really soft material. All I'd have to do is make a little sack and stuff it with catnip.

I'll post some pictures when I finally make some stuff.

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

The cat toys are a GREAT idea. You could also use them to stuff something else---like a felt dog toy or recylced sweater monster.....

My Grandma once handed me an old pair of my Grandpa's underwear to scrub the bathroom floor with - sans gloves.  shiver. She never throws anything out (although, that is good)   She tried to reason with me that they were washed, but still.  It affects me to this day.

My hubby picked up a pack of men's underwear, opened it and washed it before he realized that they were briefs (of the tighty whitey variety) and not BOXER briefs as he prefers.

They're in all sorts of vibrant colors...bright purple, royal blue, orange, etc...and something in me says that they should be used for some sort of crafty endeavor...

Just can't think of anything!

Any ideas?

Sew 'em up. Stuff 'em and turn them into pillows!
