I made this bag from an old T-shirt I had that had gotten too thin to wear. I love it too much to get rid of it, so I turned it into a bag. It has a lining from pink T-shirt fabric, and between the shirt and the lining is an old thin quilt that I used to make it stiffer and thicker. The way I sewed it is basically the way you sew a little coin purse with lining and a zipper, with a few modifications of my own. There's an inset pocket in the lining with a zipper. That was the hardest part. The strap was sewn on after.

thats really cool, bags from skirts are really easy too, just sew up one end and line it if you need it.

Wow! I really like that.  Would you mind posting a tutorial??  I would like to try one of these.

Edit: Is there a zipper in the top as well or just on the inside pocket?

Wow, that is very very cute! I think you've inspired me to dig those concert shirts which are way too big for me and use them this way!
