Can't stop, addicted to the shindig

Well...

(Sorry the first one is so blurry, I think my camera is dying...the pictures don't really do it justice...I was pretty proud of how it came out.)
It seems kind of empty to me, so any suggestions on what I could do to fill up the blank space?

Thanks

awesome!!! if i were to do anything to that shirt i'd prolly reconstruct that shirt, make it more form fitting and add some red ribbon laced in the back or down the sides.. also i'd add the name. but that's just me! anyway awesome job... the white stripes totally rock!!

Wow... that's awesome! =D I made one just like that for my boyfriend (but a blue shirt, and the stencil I printed onto iron-on transfer paper)! It didn't come out as great as your's, however. I love it! Good job!

Hey! I made the negative version of that shirt! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28992.msg242349#msg242349
I love that stenci, but I was also wondering about how to fill up the blank space. I was thinking about actually just enclosing the stencil in a box so it would look like a photo or something, but I haven't gotten around to trying it out.

I am really no good at sewing, and I only tried recon-ing a shirt once, and it turned out horribly. It's my younger sister in the picture, but I picked a shirt that we could both fit into. Anyway, my sewing machine is broken now, but that's just because it was a cheap, 50 dollar sewing machine...

I was thinking about adding "the White Stripes", too, but I am trying to decide on a cool, easy font, because I hate doing letters.

There's a couple of good fonts that are super easy to stencil. One's just called "STENCIL" and there's another.... Can't remember the name. But I think it starts with an 'A'. Or you could alter a font to make it stencil-able. Add extra lines through letters that have floaters, such as O, A, B, etc. You can just do a vertical line through the center of those letters. But I love your shirt! I'm going to have to make one. I want to get hold of a photo from the Blue Orchid video and make that into a stencil. That would be the coolest.

you could dye it. i wonder how dying something that's painted on would work out? at any rate, I'm not very keen on white tees so that's what I think. other than that, yeah, I agree with reconning it. sewing is surprisingly easy if you've got a machine.

I know how to stencil letters, it's just boring to me. I would much rather cut out abjects or people. I just don't like letters.

I really don't like white clothes at all (I am extremely clumsy, and spill stuff on all of my clothes), but I figured that's waht would look the best, because of the whole 'red and white' theme they have going on. I really didn't think it would turn out very good if I used a red background and used white for the stencil.

you should add the lyrics to Hotel Yorba on the shirt somewhere... maybe the back. you know, "1,2,3,4... take the elevator at the hotel yorba i'll be glad to see you later. all they've got inside is vacancy. well, it's a 4,5,6,7 grab your umbrella. grab ahold of me 'cause i'm your favorite fella. yeah, all they've got inside is vacancy." Okay, wow, sorry about that. as you might've figured out by my other posts/username/site(if you've clicked on it) i heart the white stripes. very, very, very much. and i commend you on your taste and stencil-cutting skills.

Yeah, my sister wants me to put Hotel Yorba on there. I'll probably end up not putting anything else on there until I stain it...I procrastinate so  much it's not even funny. I'm glad you like it.

I think this is it. I got it off of the FAQ thread in Discussion and Questions. You should be able to find it from here.

what you could do is water down some of the paint, and then cover up your stencil with like tape of somehting and then flick the paint all over the shirt. that way the paint wouldn't be so thick and dark and clumpy. and it'd look neato and take up the white space
