Oh wow, that's beautiful. I think the fabric for my own is going to be my birthday present to myself.
I bought a skirt that's the same kind of idea (it was $13! Best find I've ever had), but it's various flower prints done in strips. I love it so much, but it's rayon and some of the patches are starting to fray because of the thin seam allowances. Eep!
I have an urge to do coordinating colours - must be the quilter in me rearing her pedantic head. On second thought, maybe I should finish the quilt I've been working on for two years first, haha.

I love this!! I don't think I have enough fabric scraps right now, but I might start setting aside some just for this purpose.
An idea I had-- has anyone tried making the skirt with a corset back? It would probably help with the wieght. I have no idea how to make one, but have been meaning to learn for the longest time! Maybe there's a tut online?

Oh WOW that skirt is amazing!!!  It looks great with those strapy shoes by the way.  Maybe you could fashion a pair of funky suspenders to hold your skirt up?  The ribbon idea it a good one too.

holy crap...this is AMAZING!! I got on crafster tonight looking for a pattern suggestion or something for a patchwork skirt and I never expected to find this! Perfect!!

I don't know if you've answered this already, but what kind of fabric did you use? I was thinking of making one from old t-shirts in hopes that would cut down on the heaviness...

I love it!!!!! It is awesomely kickass and I love it!!!

If you haven't fixed the heaviness yet, (but you probably have) you could try wearing it ith suspenders or whatever they are called Tongue Ok, somebody else suggested that Tongue

I want to make this skirt, thank you for the tutorial!!!
