i did one! kind of....here's the horror story

i taped the ends to a piece of board to try and stop it moving about so much but it still did. once it was weaved/woven I slid a piece of fusable interfacing under it all and ironed it, then trimmed the ends of the ribbon off.
This was fine but then i folded the edges over to make it neat. Once i did that i found it was big enough to be a big wallet, but it needed lining, so i sewed the lining on in the normal way. the problem was that the interfacing was folded over already and so when it came to turning it right way out, it was really lumpy along the sides, so i top sewed it to try and sort it out but it made it worse! i persevered but ended up just sewing up the sides to make the wallet lumps and all, and then tried to fold it in half and it was too lumpy to fold!

i left it unfolded and crammed a zip into it from the outside, no finishing or nicety at all...call this a botch because it totally is.

all that said i quite like it...thanks for the inspiration!

Hello, baby!
I'm still using my wallet! Well, ok. that's not entirely true! The first one I made (the blue one in those pix) I used a clear vinyl that was not quite thick enough to stand up to the abuse I give my stuff! =0)
So the next one I made I used stronger vinyl. It's the opposite of the blue one color wise. Brown ribbon with a blue accent! was supposed to be for the bf but he never ended up using it so it went to me! hahahahah....
you all still up for a tute! I get compliments alllll the time on my id holder! And the purse I made is in CHINA right now! haha.. my friend (she's 16- so cute!) was all- PLEEEASSSEEEE make me one!  I said, yeah right, Kid. I might teach you to do it yourself! it took a lot of work! =0)  But if I end up doing it anyway, which I might (she gave me "the look" afterall. you know the one!) I'll try to take pix and post a tute. just cause I love you guys so much!
gosh this thread is old! =0)
peace, yo.

I'd like the tute. I love the blue and brown ribbons you used, could you tell me where you found them? I love the purse you made too.
