that's beautiful. It looks like it took a lot of work. Clever idea, too.

Me thinks a raid on AC Moore's $1 ribbon bags is in the near future.  Now I must add cool woven ribbon fabric to my list of things to try.

I agree with EVERYONE here!  I love your little card holder!  I've actually been dying to try weaving ribbon for a while now, (or maybe fabric, or strips of magazine, or clear vinyl with pictures inside??...hmmm...) anyway,

I LOVE YOURS!  It just made me go OOhhhh.. now I HAVE to try!

Just a quick note-  it looks like some of the ribbons are going horizontally, and some are going vertically.  wait, duh, I know that's how it's done. I mean - in the same row?  You know what I mean?  How does THAT work?!?

And the pink x-grain -> looks like there's a thinner version of the same color?
well, anyway, TUT!  I'm trying to figure it out (if that's OK!) but it looks hard!
Probably easier once I actually HAVE the ribbon in front of me.   Always works out that way...!

Thanks for posting!  You totally rock!
peace!

Well, I raided the ribbon at wal-mart and came up with a crochet hook case made out of woven ribbons.  You can see it here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=49865.0

FYI: if anyone tries to weave their own ribbon fabric, I recommend tacking the strips in places as you go along with fusible hem tape (stitch witchery, I think it's called), and then fuse interfacing to the entire piece.  I had a hard time keeping the ribbons tight against each other as I added the next rows.  It's a little extra work with the iron, but it saves a headache.
