Here's my first finished crochet hat. I worked it in single crochet in the round with simple increases every other row, about every other stitch, then just straight single crochet for the main tube part. to get the curl at the bottom I just did two single crochet stitches in every stitch, and then the last row I decreased every other stitch. The flower is a combo of single, half double, and double stitches in "waves." Thanks for checking it out!

Here's another hat I just finished, it's basically the same pattern in pink

I love it.  I am a knitter but want to learn to crochet so that I can make such hats.  You have inspired me!

Thanks! I was a knitter too, then my sister taught me crochet and I've been going crazy! it's so fast and easy, and no need to worry about losing stitches because you're constantly "binding off." good luck!

I love the hat.  And it looks really good on you too.  I have a felted hat very similar to that and it just does not look that cute on me.  Great Job!

and i act like a child, and i'm immature,
and i'm filled with doubt, and i'm insecure.
sometimes it creeps up on me,
and before i know it i'm lost at sea.
but no matter how far i row,
i always find my way back home.
but i don't know what i've been waiting for...

It's super easy, just pick up a basic crochet book from the library, and one medium sized crochet hook. I like it because it's much easier to do things in the round than knitting. I'm glad you like the hat! I've also been whipping up flowers like that for future embellishments. They're fun and fast.

by the way, that's my twin sister in the pictures! we're identical.
