http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.B6582=x&TI=10002&page=7

the party is in a couple weeks and i was wondering if anyone has made it or if it's easy etc. i tend to procrastinate and get side tracked which is why i've left it so late! thanks
(i hope i put this in the right section!)

I made the blue version a few years ago out of an asian brocade fabric.  I'd say it was pretty easy overall.

you may have alredy found something else for your party...but someone revivewed this pattern on patternreview.com

hopefully you can view this without becoming a member...but it is free and it's a pretty good site if you want to research a pattern before trying it out

I made this pattern just last December for my 23rd birthday cocktail party! It was actually very simple. I made the fitted version and it took me about 2 hours. But being the rusty sewer that I am, I used interfacing that was a bit too stiff. Otherwise it came out beautiful, I used a burgundy silk that I found on sale for $3 a yard! But I totally recommend it!

I've made this dress before, and am in the process of making it again.  I've heard other people on craftster thinking about this dress, so I think I'm going to start a thread on the sew along board.  Hope to see you join.   Grin

It sounds like you've already made up your mind, but I wanted to add my encouragment.  I made the yellow version dress last year for a friend's wedding and it turned out amazing without having to make a lot of adjustments.  I think I started it less than a week before. I used some 2" wide grosgrain ribbon as a belt with a big bow tied in back as an added touch.  I love the shoulder bows on the foreground version, though.  Which one are you going to make?

thanks everyone Grin
i'd like to make both one day, but i think i'm going to make the fuller one first, so it can cover that extra little bit of chub that i am carrying. ha ha!
once that's gone then i want to make the straight one too. i also love the bows they add a little something. thanks for the encouragment!
