i STILL wear my daughter in our sun-bleached, nearly thread bare sling.  she prefers it to all other transport, and is safe and happy at 2+ years and 26 pounds.  i 'wear' her at the mall and short trips to the local market... thanx for the comment!

no probs! Have you been to thebabywearer.com? They have some links etc to making slings and stuff.. a lil bit of research there makes it pretty easy to do them I found.. And the mei tai style carriers, i carried my 2 yrold godson around in one for like 2 hours, and it was super comfy. Cant wait to do it with my own! (now to convince  partner that we should start a family really soon.. hehe).. lol

hey kirbay
i made my bro and sis-in-law a sling this summer for their 3rd... i used a pattern by 'elizabeth lee designs'- from the states.  this co. is very pro- breastfeeding and baby-wearing.  the pattern was super simple to follow and offered lots of add-ons to make the sling more versatile.  but when it comes right down to it, a sling is just a long piece of cotton fabric with rings on one side to hold the 'tail' piece on the other.

i'm going to make a new one for myself and the next (?!) when i get the other 300 impending projects out of the way!
