horray! i've had this account for like a month and now i can finally post a project!i made these earrings a while ago but it took me forever to find the damn camera cord.anyways..

pretty much every part of these earrings are recycled parts..they're actually painted bottle caps with cat eyes attached(i painted the spiral bead at the top too) with dangling grenade-looking beads.. i love em..

i was bored so i started hanging them on random stuff in my house..(sorry if it's too many pics)
hanging on melted iron:

hanging on drawing figure:

The sunflower picture is the coolest/creepiest thing I've seen in a long time.  That is a compliment. Smiley

thanks. Grin the eyes are actually plastic stuffed animal eyes, they come with a post on the back but i just clipped it off to make them flat.

Those are totally incredible! I love them! They look so cool yet almost spooky at the same time. And for some reason I'm thinking they look Egyptian...
They would look really freaky on the mask beside your melted iron...
I want them!

How did you melt your iron?
« Reply #7 on: August 01, 2005 02:19:06 PM »

heh, thanks! i've actually made a bunch of different kinds (some without eyes) but all of them i either sold or gave away, but i might post them if i make some more or see someone wearing them.. i'm not exactly sure how the iron ended up melted, it was just something i found and thought was worth keeping. now i use it as a jewelry display and for other stuff..

Those are really cute, I like the painted backs.  Somehow they remind of the cat in Alice in Wonderland.  Smiley
