My knitting bothers my husband.  When I'm knitting, I'm not curling up on the sofa with him.

Oddly enough, his objections go straight out the window if I'm knitting something for him.   Tongue

I try to keep my knitting to times when we wouldn't be interacting anyway - when I'm on the commuter rail, or when he has a late meeting.

I generally knit when I'm watching a film, reading, or waiting for something to load on the computer (or commuting!) - none of these are major snuggling time for us anyway, so he doesn't feel too jealous.  Plus, he really likes the results (me in flattering tops, him in warm socks!).  It helps that he's used to people knitting around him - his mother does too!

On the other hand, the yarn stash (and the fabric stash, and the spinning stash, and the timber, and hte paints etc.) is becoming an issue...
