This is a little gouache painting I had done on cardboard after watching the film
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and seeing all the little sea creatures throughout.

Oh my gosh -- freaking ADORABLE!

I love crabs and lobsters -- and i have never thought of doing a painting! good idea!! (And The Life Aquatic is pretty good inspiration!)

Gouache is fairly opaque, so you don't really need to put it on very thick. I like it very much!

i love this, rosered!!  great job!  i love the colors you chose to use and how saturated they are.  the crab is also rad.

this reminds me of a street about a mile or so long near where i grew up called the nautical mile.  it was on a canal and lined with fish stores, tackle shops, and seafood restaurants...all with a nautical theme, kind of in a kitchy way, which is what always made it cool to me.  your crab would be very at home there.  thanks for sharing him!
