Hi!  This is my first post, though I've been lurking for a while.  My name's Megan, and I live in New Orleans and go to college in New York.  I was so proud of this bag, and I wanted to share it with someone!

I've been wanting to make a backpack like this for years, ever since I saw the movie Kikujiro and the kid's blue backpack.  I finally got around to making my own version last weekend:

The wings are made of white felt and stuffed.  The lining is cotton, and the main fabric is a stretchy, gummy, awful fabric that I had already.  If I did the project again, I'd use a different fabric, as this one kept gumming up my sewing machine needle, and it hangs strangely, making the wings lean to one side or the other most of the time.  That said, though, I love this bag, and it makes me so happy when the wind picks up and the wings flutter.

Me wearing the bag.  (Sorry for the pictures.  I took them myself with a camera phone...)
